Shaft Generator System
Shaft Generator System
The marine shaft generator system is an energy-saving system that reuses the excess power from the main engine for electricity generation - While the ship is in stable navigation, redundant output power from the main engine is converted into electric power through the shaft generator, supplying electric power to the whole ship.
The core function is to reduce the diesel generators operation time - lowering fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and pollutant emissions, while improving the ship's energy efficiency.

SGS Working Mode

PTO: Power Take-Off
The SG is driven by the main engine's power to generate electricity, supplying electric power to the whole ship, and replacing or reducing the use of diesel generators.

PTI: Power Take-In
The SG absorbs electric energy from the ship's power grid to drive the propeller, working together with the main engine to propel the ship.
PTH: Power Take-Home
Used for emergency propulsion in the event of a complete main engine failure, ensuring the ship can return to port or maintain basic power.
